Yet another birthday - or is it?

It was my birthday. Mom and Dad were here which was really nice. I got extra special treatment! Mom even made the most amazing carrot cake ever! From scratch! It was divine.

Birthdays are usually not that big of a deal to me - maybe because I've never had a huge celebration. To me it is just another number. But, to be honest, this year was different. Keith thought I was turning 30 (what? he doesn't know how old I am? what kind of marriage is this?!?! JK). And suddenly it hit me. This is my LAST year in my 20's. Next year I will be in my 30's! Next year is like a crossover into the world of mature people! Wow - I need to celebrate this one all year! This is it - goodbye 20's! I need to hang on!
