New Years Resolution

I know it's February. I'm a little behind, but better late than never.
I think my resolution is probably the same as 95% of you. My purpose in posting it is to keep me accountable. ~~I want to get healthy. I am not putting a weight number on this goal. I am just leaving it at getting healthy. I realize that I have tried this about 10,000 times before. Last summer I went walking/running with my neighbor every morning and did not lose a single pound. That was frustrating. I don't think I pushed myself hard enough or changed my eating habits enough.
This is it! This is my time to succeed! I can feel it in the air. I am sick of being overweight and tired. I am sick of running out of breath and not wanting to do physical activity with my kids. Now is the time!
I plan to work out 6 mornings a week. So far so good. Tuesdays I have school early, so I go to the campus rec center before class. The other days, except Sunday, my friend Lisa and I are going to her HOA Clubhouse workout room. **A small sidenote here - at first I felt guilty going to a clubhouse of which I was not a member. I do not live in that neighborhood and do not pay their dues. I even see some people from church and they look at me like, "What the...?" Keith has convinced me that it is not a big deal because I have been invited by my friend who does live in that neighborhood and who would probably not even be using it if she didn't have someone to go with. So that is what I keep telling myself. If you live in that neighborhood and feel otherwise, get over it. JK! Seriously, JK. Please let me know.** ~~The second part of my plan is eating habits. Let's face it - I like food. I live flavor any way I can get it. Usually that means lots of sugar, salt and/or fat. If I am deprived of these things, I obsess over it until I can get it. So my plan of action is to eat ALL things in moderation. I am not calorie counting. Nothing is off limits. But portion sizes will be key for me. I have started chewing gum - a lot. I find that when I get a craving, if I chew on fruity gum then it curbs my craving. I just need to find a gum that doesn't lose its flavor or get tough after 10 minutes. Suggestions?
Lastly, I want to leave you with a CALL FOR ACTION. Who wants to join me? Maybe a health and wellness club or some sort of Biggest Loser Competition amongst my blog friends? We could post tips for each other, weigh in, or even have a small jackpot for the winner. Just thinking out loud. Let me know! I'd love to have anyone's support on this! It is so much easier when we are doing it together!
