Happy St. Patty's Day!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!! I must admit, I have no idea what this holiday celebrates except I can assume it is about some Irish guy named St. Patrick. But all last week, Adeline kept coming home from school telling me all about Leprachauns (sp?) and how tricky they are and how she really wants to catch one on St. Patrick's Day. So I decided to play a little trick on them. I told them that sometimes Leprachauns come at night and play tricks on us, but if we leave them a treat, then they will play nice tricks. So, we decorated cupcakes for them. In the middle of the night I dyed the milk green, made green rolls and cinnamon rolls, took the leaf of the table halfway out, turned their chairs on their sides, took all the cushions off the couch and piled them in the middle of the living room and spread shamrocks all over the floor. It felt like Christmas again!

Here they are decorating cupcakes so that the Leprachauns will only play nice tricks.

And here at the tricksters. Lora and Henry by the pile of cushions. All three of them with their green rolls, cinnamon rolls and green milk. And of course, my Adeline. She is not a morning person. She was not very thrilled about having a flash in her face at the early hour of 8:30, so she sat on the cushionless couch.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, to you, too. We sure miss you guys, and hope that Christopher, Emma and Kevin will be able to meet all of their cousins sometime soon. (once we become independently wealthy :-).
